Sprague-Grundy Values of the R-Wythoff Game

چکیده

We examine the Sprague-Grundy values of the game of R-Wythoff, a restriction of Wythoff’s game introduced by Ho, where each move is either to remove a positive number of tokens from the larger pile or to remove the same number of tokens from both piles. Ho showed that the P -positions of R-Wythoff agree with those of Wythoff’s game, and found all positions of Sprague-Grundy value 1. We describe all the positions of Sprague-Grundy value 2 and 3, and also conjecture a general form of the positions of Sprague-Grundy value g.

On the Sprague-Grundy Values of the 𝔽-Wythoff Game

We examine the Sprague-Grundy values of F-Wythoff, a restriction of Wythoff’s game introduced by Ho, where the integer ratio of the pile sizes must be preserved if the same number of tokens is removed from both piles. We answer two conjectures raised by Ho. First, we show that each column of Sprague-Grundy values is ultimately additively periodic. Second, we prove that every diagonal of Sprague...

Euclid and Wythoff games

Two characterizations of the Sprague-Grundy function values of Euclid’s game, in terms of the winning strategy of the generalized Wythoff game, are given.

Variations of the Game 3-Euclid

We present two variations of the game 3-Euclid. The games involve a triplet of positive integers. Two players move alternately. In the first game, each move is to subtract a positive integer multiple of the smallest integer from one of the other integers as long as the result remains positive. In the second game, each move is to subtract a positive integer multiple of the smallest integer from ...

A Combinatorial Game Having a Connection with Prime Numbers

We introduce a two person game played with a pair of nonnegative integers; a move consists of subtracting from the larger integer, a positive integer no greater than the smaller integer. The player who reduces one of the integers to zero wins. The game is curious in several respects: in particular, its Sprague-Grundy values have an interesting connection with prime numbers.

The Sprague-Grundy function of the game Euclid

We show that the Sprague-Grundy function of the game Euclid is given by g(x, y) = b|y/x− x/y|c for x, y ≥ 1.
